June 6, 2013

Hello Everyone,

At the March meeting it was decided that instead of having our normal meeting in June, those who wanted to would go to WOOLFEST in Ohio. Admission to Woolfest is free for guild members (please read below).

If you would like information about carpooling please contact Catherine by e-mail or by phone.

Woolfest is an event held at Lake Farmpark in Kirtland Ohio. This year Woolfest will be on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd.

Woolfest features vendors, demonstrations and sheep and alpaca on display. There will be vendors on hand who will be selling fleece, yarn, and knitting, weaving and spinning supplies. If it is raining, note that the vendors, hooked rug show and fiber arts show are all indoors, and there will be a wagon to transport you from the Visitors’ Center to the arena (where the vendors are).

Woolfest is offering free admission to individuals who belong to a fiber related guild. We have contacted Cindy Bernando, the event coordinator, and she has confirmed that our guild is eligible for this free admission!

This is a nice incentive to encourage members of our group to attend. It is a bit of a drive – it is approximately 2 hours from Franklin – but it is a nice drive and Farmpark itself is worth visiting even without Woolfest going on.

If you are interested in going to Woolfest this year please do the following:

1. Check the member list to make sure that you are included on it. We have submitted this list to Farmpark/Woolfest as our current list of members. If you would like to verify that you are on the list, contact us by e-mail up to a week before the event at woolywondersNWPA (at) gmail.com

2. Attend Woolfest at Lake Farmpark. When you walk in to the visitor center there will be a table near the admission desk. Please tell the person at that table that you are a member of the Wooly Wonders Fiber Arts Guild of Franklin, PA (no membership card is needed). They will have our member list at the desk to look for your name. You will have to show a photo ID.

3. Enjoy yourself!

Thank you,
Wooly Wonders Fiber Arts Guild
