Nov/Dec 2012 Meeting Notes

January 19, 2013

Wooly Wonders Knitting Guild held their combined monthly meeting for November/December on December 1, 2012, at the Pink Champagne Cupcakery in downtown Franklin. Ten people attended with several new faces joining the group.

It was decided to hold the next meeting at Pink Champagne Cupcakery on January 26, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. There will not be a program at this meeting as it will be a reorganizational meeting with new officers elected and various programs selected for various meetings. One of the options to be considered was a day trip to Wolfe Creek Yarn in Grove City. A charity project that was decided on for the year is to aid the Domestic Violence home. Plans will be made at the Jan. meeting to formulate what would be best suited as gifts to make. Cat E. will inquire about what items would be most useful. We will plan to complete the items by October for distribution.

We had an update on the welfare of our members and it was noted that Colleen Henry was now living at the Caring Place. Cards and/or visits would be welcome by Colleen.

Bridgett Davis presented a demonstration on how to make the Helix Scarf which included a lesson on how to make short rows. Once again Bridget did a great job of demonstrating and helping us all learn a new skill. She also showed us three of the scarves she has made and all of the different ways to wear them. THANKS BRIDGETT!

It was brought up by Julie that we designated $10.00 a meeting for the tip jar at Pink Champagne and it would come from the treasury. Everyone agreed on this plan as we get such good service from the ladies who work there. As a reminder the yearly dues of $20.00 are once again due. They can be paid to Kathie Zinz at any of the meetings.
